All submitted
articles are subjected to a double blind peer-review process. The review
process may take approximately 3 to 6 weeks. In initial review, it is ensured
that the similarity-index of submitted article is below 12% as per Journal of
Environmental Treatment Techniques (JETT) policy. Upon preliminary evaluation
by the Editorial Board, the papers are sent to two or more referees (experts in
respective fields) for evaluation. After the reviewers have submitted their
comments you will be contacted by an editor or AE regarding acceptance,
provisional acceptance, or rejection of a manuscript. The decision of the
Editor-in-Chief to publish a paper in concurrence with referee(s) opinion is
considered final.

Journal of Environmental Treatment Techniques (JETT) possesses an online submission system (OSS) through which authors must submit their manuscripts. All the manuscripts' reviews can be easily processed using this OSS. The manuscripts go through a single-blind peer review which it means the reviewers are aware of the identity of the authors, but authors are unaware of the identity of reviewers. There are at least 30 or more reviewers for the total number of articles in each issue. Once we receive a manuscript, the titles of submitted manuscripts are evaluated by the editor-in-chief. In this stage, the manuscripts which are beyond the scope of JETT are rejected by the editor-in-chief. Then, an appropriate editor is assigned for each manuscript by editor-in-chief depending on its field. The assigned editor is usually one of the JETT editorial board members. Next, at least four reviewers are invited by the assigned editor to review the manuscript. The list of JETT reviewer team is available on the journal website. We usually expect to receive the reviewers' comments within one month. However, for many cases, the reviewers need more time to evaluate the manuscript. The typical time period required to complete the review process for a manuscript is 8 weeks. Upon receiving the reviewers' comments, the assigned editor decides on the manuscript status which can be either accepted with minor revisions, accepted with major revisions, or rejected. Based on the reviewers’ comments, the journal editor-in-chief arrives at the final decision, and they will be accessible for the manuscript corresponding author via OSS. There is a possibility that the journal editor-in-chief has the manuscript to be double-checked by another editor to ensure the right decision. In the case of accepting a manuscript with a revision, the authors must revise the manuscript and submit its revised version via the journal OSS. The revised version of the manuscript can be seen by the reviewers through the OSS. Finally, the accepted manuscripts are made online by the journal production team.
